Shingle Oak Down

Ma Nature went on a rampage as the "remnants" of Hurricane Ike blew in up to 75 MPH. The tree had been weakened by lightning several months ago, but was very healthy. Nevertheless, it split above the trunk and nearly to the ground Sept. 14, 2008 and had to be removed. Miraculously, there was no property damage and no one was injured! It is estimated the tree weighed over 100,000 pounds.
